it's a wonderful life: Playtime!

Lauren, Ellie and their friend Anna Sundberg are playing together right now.
Here is my conversation with Lauren:
Me : What are you guys playing?
Lauren : Orphanage
Me: Oh, how do you play orphanage?
Lauren : I am the orphanage teacher and Ellie and Anna are the orphanages.

funny things my kids say

I was doing Lauren's hair on Sunday morning. She was sitting on the bathroom counter, looking in the mirror as I styled. When her hair was done, she exclaimed, " I wish I could pop my head off and staple it to my wall so I could look at myself all day! I am so beautiful!" Lauren is nothing if not dramatic!

Ellie was eating a graham cracker and a little piece fell onto her dress. She saw it shifting on her dress while she was walking, and thought it was a bug. She WIGGED out! Mike kept telling her that it was just a cracker. When she finally calmed down, she said, "I hate ladybugs, potato bugs, and crackers that walk!"

Today, at the mall, a cute little grandpa came up to us and asked Ellie what her name was, she replied (very matter-of-factly) "My name is Ellie Christine dot com" so funny!

This morning Ellie came into our bed. After a little snuggle with mom, she said, "Mom, I have loved you for my whole life." These are the moments that make it all worthwhile!!

Today Ellie and I went to Walmart. We were walking through the parking lot, when Ellie walked staight into a parked car. She really banged into it! I asked her why she walked into the car and she responded, " Well, the wind was blowing into my eyes, so I was walking with my eyes shut, and suddenly a car was there!"

The other day Lauren and I were cooking together. I told her that I don't like to use too much oil because it isn't healthy. She got a very serious look on her face and said, "Yeah, because oil goes in the car, and we're not supposed to eat car parts!"
